The Barre Method


The Barre Method is a blended workout fusing elements from the movement of ballet, the core focus of pilates, the stretching of yoga and the strengthening of functional exercise. The beauty of this means there will always be movement you recognise.

Each class is designed for mixed abilities and we welcome everyone, with modifications given throughout each class. All formats on the Menu are designed to music and are super energising for the mind and body.

Using the barre, props including mats, weights, resistance bands and pilates balls we take you through a full body, low impact workout – no jumping or high impact moves unless you want to!
The small, targeted isometric movements fatigue the muscles, helping to strengthen and tone your body, resulting in the ‘burn’ and ‘shake’ barre has become synonymous for.

A few classes at The Barre will leave you standing taller, more mobile, flexible. Seeing an improvement in muscle tone throughout your whole body and a sense of wellbeing.


Your First Class

What to wear?
Light, comfortable activewear with layers to peel away as you heat up and gripper socks to prevent slipping. Grip socks are required and can be purchased in the studio.

A calm space to change, hang your coat, store your belongings and remove shoes before entering the studios. Please aim to use the toilet before class.

What to Bring?
All mats, props and towels are provided, just bring water if you wish and enjoy your class.

Injuries, Pre & Post Natal
Our teachers will always ask at the start of class for any injuries or pre/post natal indications. If you can let us know beforehand we can modify accordingly and even book you a 1:1 session to understand your required modifications.
